Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Mulliner Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit has designed a distinctive keycase to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the brand. It is made of Dark Stained Burr Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes a flying "B" paperweight keys, as well as an unreleased booklet with 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics
As a design-centric company Bentley takes its aesthetics seriously. The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever created. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Design

The Bentley Mulsanne Key comes with two buttons that open the trunk, and another that starts the vehicle. It also has a switch that can activate the parking break. The key is constructed from vegetable tanned leather. It takes two days to create each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, stitched to seal, and polished to create a high-end result. It is durable small and compact, and it fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to the Volkswagen Phaeton's massive car key, but feels heavier and more luxurious.
It is also equipped with Secure-A-Key which prevents keyless entry theft. This device is placed inside the remote control fob and then shuts it off when the key isn't used for more than a few minutes. It blocks thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that can unlock and start the car.

Personalisation
Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to create their own vehicle. The "mood station" lets customers pick images that inspire them. They can range from beautiful landscapes to sporting events. Each time a selection is made, a pattern is created that reveals the model and color preferences for the personalized Bentley.
The resulting configuration is stored on individual R.F.I.D.-enabled key cards that are then presented to guests in a hand-crafted key case. Keys are also equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that illuminate the door's opening path with the owner's name or emblem as they make their way towards the vehicle.
Bentley estimates that it takes about 500 man-hours to construct and build the Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a deliberate decision to adopt the latest technology. The Crewe factory workers do not employ a machine to place perfectly matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. And rather than using the car's built-in sensors to guide it to parallel and perpendicular parking spots drivers must perform the task by hand.
At the event, Bentley presented its Mulliner personalization capabilities by presenting one of a kind that was the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O.
